About The Seminar

Economist Dennis Delay, Deputy Director NH Center for Public Policies will present the factors and forces that led to the collapse of financial credit and the resulting demise of some of Wall Street’s most stalwart institutions.  He will analyze the bailout and explain what it means to us as NH businesses and residents.  He will present and explain the good news-why NH is weathering this period better than our neighbors across New England and the USA!

Mr. Zenagui Brahim, NH Manufacturing Extension Partnership will partner with Mr. Delay to present a study by the National Council on Advanced Manufacturing www.nacfam.org   showing how manufacturing companies in NH are doing now and projecting that to the future.  He will emphasize process improvement technology, competitiveness, and workforce development needs.

New APICS Lean Enterprise Workshop Series

 

As more organizations decide to go lean, demand is escalating for a skilled team and system wide approach for developing and implementing lean project plans. This course is designed to equip you with the broad knowledge and tools to map the transformation for developing a lean culture at your organization.

This workshop will allow you to

Complete a self-assessment to determine your organization's readiness to implement lean
Gain practical experience analyzing how to incorporate lean into organizations
Leave with a project plan for implementing lean into your organization
The APICS Lean Enterprise Workshop Series is organized to enable you to approach and understand the lean transformation process systematically. Using scenarios from a fictitious company, Murphy's Toys, you will be tasked with finding lean solutions to a myriad of challenges. This method will provide you with the flexibility to immediately customize what you've learned and implement it at your own organization.

There are seven workshops in the series:

You will gain an overview of the many components of implementing
a lean transformation in your organization and gauge your
organization's readiness through a hands-on assessment. :

The Central NH Chapter of APICS (CENH) has a generous offering of CPIM, CSCP, AMES and Fundamentals educational opportunities starting the week of November 3, 2011. Choose among five CPIM Certification Review Courses toward your Certification:

  • Basics of Supply Chain Management (BSCM),

  • Detail Scheduling and Planning (DS&P),

  • Master Planning of Resources (MRP),

  • Execution and Control of Operation (ECO),

  • Strategic Management of Resources (SMR).

6th Annual Governor’s Advanced Manufacturing & High Technology Summit

On October 7th, the Business and Industry Association, in partnership with New Hampshire Business Resource Center and New Hampshire Manufacturing Extension Partnership, will present the 6th Annual Governor's Advanced Manufacturing and High Technology Summit, "Made in the USA!!". It will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord.

Following registration and continental breakfast, the program will begin with welcoming remarks from Mark Godfrey, Chairman, NH MEP and CEO of Felton Brush Inc. followed by Special Guest remarks from Governor John Lynch. The keynote speaker, sponsored by Citizens Bank with additional support from BAE Systems and Society of Manufacturing Engineers, will be Doug Hall, founder and CEO of the Eureka! Ranch, which is a business development consultancy that helps companies discover Measurably Smarter Choices for Growth. He will review new research on how NH Manufacturing Companies can ignite the chain reaction of top-line growth - and avoid the spiral of death.
